My Celtic Fiddle is based on a medieval era design first seen in Italy where it spread to the rest of Europe. It later became surpassed by the introduction of the violin. But it remains popular to this day in Sweden where it is called a Nyckelharpa.
Its large body puts out an amazing amount of sound that is deep, rich, and sonorous. The fiddle has 4 bowed strings and 12 sympathetic srings which give it a lovely resonance.
The instrument is well suited to Renaissance, Baroque, and Celtic music.
